Even a well-designed project needs someone keeping the whole thing moving — trades, schedule, budget, approvals, and decisions all pulling in the same direction. Kevin Cohen Design offers project management that holds a home project together from design through completion.
Most of what goes wrong on a building project is not a design failure or a construction failure — it is a coordination failure. A decision made late, a trade that arrives before the work it depends on, a long-lead material ordered too close to when it was needed. Project management is the discipline of staying ahead of those failures.
Home projects tend to take longer than the drawings suggest, and good management is partly about being honest regarding why — reviews, discoveries, weather, and the simple fact that quality takes time. The goal is not to promise a date that cannot be kept, but to protect the critical path so the delays that do happen stay small.
Project management can run alongside a full design-build engagement, or serve as an owner's representative role on a project where the design and construction are already underway.
